ZestyTools ("we", "us") operates the website zestytools.com, a collection of free online tools. This policy explains what information is and is not collected when you use the site, in plain English.

Your tool inputs stay on your device

The text, files, and data you enter into our browser-based tools (such as the JSON formatter, word counter, Base64 encoder, hash generator, and diff checker) are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. They are never uploaded, transmitted, stored, or logged by us. Closing the page discards them.

Some future tools (such as PDF and image converters) may process files on our server. When they do, files are processed in memory or in temporary storage only for the duration of the conversion, are never shared, and are deleted immediately after your result is returned. Tools that work this way will say so on their page.

We do not require accounts and do not collect personal data

You can use every tool without creating an account, providing an email address, or identifying yourself in any way. We do not collect names, email addresses, or profiles.

Usage limits

Some server-side tools have daily free usage limits. To enforce them, our server keeps a simple counter of your IP address, the tool used, and the date. This counter is used only for rate limiting, is not linked to any personal identity, and is routinely purged.

Local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences (for example, that you purchased ad-free browsing). This information stays in your browser, is never transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display advertisements served by Google AdSense to keep the tools free. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

Payments (Stripe)

If you choose to make a purchase (such as removing ads), payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe provides us the email address you enter at checkout, which we use only to restore your purchase on future visits.

Infrastructure (Cloudflare)

This site is delivered through Cloudflare, which provides security and performance services and may process connection data such as IP addresses as part of operating its network.

Analytics

We do not run our own analytics scripts or tracking pixels. Aggregate, anonymized traffic statistics are provided by Cloudflare at the network level.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience utility site and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
